new additions

I've been feeling super motivated to get new goods up in the shop recently. That's a good thing, since a lot of the time it can feel like quite a chore. Because I know it can't last, I'm going to go ahead and do as much as I can as long as the feeling lingers.

ten in twenty-ten

Listen in as I give myself strict instructions for the rest of the year...

01 - read: at least two books a month. that's it.

02 - learn: figure out how to speak spanish and practice speaking it.

03 - make: create something with your own two hands. try new things. do it often. then show it to someone.

04 - travel: go somewhere new. see something you haven't seen before. most importantly, try the food there. even if it's seafood...just a little won't kill you.

05 - photograph: please make more of an effort to take your camera with you. you have several to choose from so just use them already.

06 - practice: remember when you were really good at playing the violin? now remember how you took about ten years off? try to get good again then send dad a recording like you said you would.

07 - patience: try to be pleasant for a change.

08 - live: get off the computer and go outside already. you've got a beach handy - try using it a bit more frequently. while you're feeling froggy, call a friend to meet you there once in awhile.

09 - explore: try to see a new part of the island. won't you feel bad when the time comes to move if you haven't seen/done everything there is?

10 - leap: if you can only manage to stick to one resolution, make it jumping off the cliffs at maunawili falls.

shop update

I don't know why I feel the need to group these things by color, but I do. So here you are, black and white vintage to wear while watching your black and white films:

snow days

The day after Christmas I flew to Utah for a funeral. It was a quick trip, but I did have one morning to spend sledding with my cousins and a horse named Lincoln.

shop update

I had three hours to kill at the airport in Seattle, but it was about time for an update anyway. So, oh joy, I give you the tan + blue collection:

yesterday today tomorrow

Christmas is coming, but first we have to have my birthday. I have a wish all worked out, but it won't work to tell you what it is.

tra la la

Yesterday. Yesterday was great. In the morning I took A to the zoo with some friends. In the afternoon we went swimming. And in the evening we ate some really great pizza and watched a couple classic Christmas movies to get us in the mood. I think it's working.

be a winner

I've had some luck lately. That is to say, I've won a few things online. A looooooong time ago, I won a little package from Leah. Leah is great. She really is. She's got moxie.  When I won, I had to take a pledge, and it went something like this:

i __________, promise in good faith, to pass on some love of my own. i will get a small flat rate box from the post office and fill it with my own goodies and pass it along to someone in my own giveaway/contest/whathaveyou. and i will ask them to pass their love on as well, and so on and so on. i will also come back to this post and let leah know when i am doing this so she can follow along.

Since I like to keep my promises, this is it. The giveaway post. I'm filling a box with a lot of little bits. Thrifted and handmade bits. Here's the best part - I won't finish filling it until you win. That way, I can pick out something special just for you. (Whoever you are.) Please do enter by leaving a comment. Please. Then, when you win (on December 18), do a dance. Once that's out of your system, take the oath. Then pay it forward.

p.s. I took this photo from Leah's original post because I think it's the best thing ever.  Thanks, Leah!

update: The winner is Andrea. Yay!
