So, I lied. There weren't any really wacky drive home shenanigans after all. Unless, of course, you count the time that vomit flew in the window and across the back seat, but I think everyone would prefer I don't talk about that.

sedona
things to do if you're ever in Sedona with your parents:
(photo 4 by A. Roberts)
- tease a tarantula
- try a new hotel each night
- involve yourself in entirely unscientific research regarding the effects of energy vortexes
- be delighted at their surprising good humor as they agree to haul you around to every thrift shop and vegetarian cafe in the area

ghost town
This morning A and I along with my cousin Emily set off in search of the remains of several small mining towns which were established in the late 1800s and subsequently abandoned. We found a few of these ghost towns, scattered around Juab County in Utah, along with a log cabin, a museum with no scheduled hours*, a man who lives alone in an old post office, and a plethora of rusty nails. Good times.
p.s. Huzzah for my little brother who agreed to let me borrow his camera for the remainder of my vacation! He is one swell chappy.
*You just have to call when you're in town so someone can come over to let you in. We would have missed out completely but for the lady running the gas station who informed us of the strange method of operation then made the call on our behalf since there is no cell phone service in the area. A short time after the call was placed a very pleasant and knowledgeable volunteer arrived to give us a complete tour.

colorado springs
A and I made our way back to Utah today after a lovely weekend in Colorado with our gracious hosts and their two awesome dogs. We spent most of our time out of doors taking in all the natural splendor that the CO has to offer. Sadly, however, only snippets of our trip were photographically documented when, after days of peculiar behavior, my beloved camera bit the dust. Boo.
