slow side

Um so...we went to Utah about a month ago, but you're just now getting photos. Somehow I think you're not surprised. I didn't get any photos of my sister-in-law's wedding - it was beautiful and it was also the reason for the entire trip in the first place - and only photos of one of my four niece and nephews...so big boo to me on that one. On the bright side, how freakin' cool is it that my brother-in-law has a rock climbing wall on the side of his house?

home sweet hawaii

Ye olde homestead is looking rather sparse these days. I've managed to sell or donate the majority of our belongings, and now I'm kind of starting to miss them. I have a tendency to get very attached to things, so I guess it's a good practice in self control to let them go occasionally. All the same, I can't wait to finish up and get out of here so I can start putting together a new home.

Oh, and it would be really nice to see my husband again too. Yeah...that would be great.
p.s. There's a silver lining to all this dreadful sorting. This very evening, whilst going through the cupboards, I found a rather large long forgotten bag of m&m's. Oh my, how those have come in handy!

ready set

I've been completely overwhelmed with all the sorting and selling, and seem to be suffering from a greatly diminished ability to focus on anything non-moving related. Luckily, my awesome parents came to spend some time with me last week and were very helpful - meaning they got to have fun with A so that I could focus on the aforementioned drudgery. My favorite memory of the week is my dad sitting on the couch facing the window and calling out to A all the shapes he could see in the clouds.

One other highlight, while sorting through some random scraps shoved into a drawer, was finding a little conversation I had copied down from last year...

C: Hurry...take a bite of your carrot. That's what good little bunnies do.

A: But bad little bunnies don't eat their carrots?

C: That's right.

A: I want to be a bad bunny.

Sheesh.

goodwiu goodbye

Due in large part to the unknowns associated with my upcoming move (to the Philippines!!) and general burnt-outedness, Goodwiu Vintage has decided to close its doors. It's been three fantastic years, and I can't say thank you enough to all those who've purchased from us in the past.

As a little last thank you, we're saying so long with a big ol' sale. Everything in the shop is now NAME YOUR OWN PRICE!! So head on over and...seriously...just name it.

pack it up, pack it in

When everyone you know lives in one place, a week is just not enough time.

Now A and I are home, but R is already off to new adventures. I merely need to sell most everything we own and pack the rest for a move across the Pacific so that we can join him. I'm just hoping that doesn't take too long. Bonus points to whoever can guess where we're moving to. Of course, scratch that if you already know.

silver lake flats

We're in Utah visiting family at the moment. Yesterday my dad took us through the canyon where we stopped at this lake to skip rocks and dip our toes in the freezing water. Everyone had a great time, but A started to cry when we told her it was time to go home because she had gotten the idea that we were taking her to the Grand Canyon and she knew that wasn't it. Sad.

roll out

Very excited to be going on vacation tomorrow. Not very excited about still needing to pack and shower and wake up at four o'clock in the morning. Must get on that.

wa'ahila ridge trail

We tried out this trail with some friends over the weekend. There were some really nice views of Manoa and Palolo Valleys and clear into downtown from the top. If you know where we live (and have super magnification powers), you may even be able to pick out our building from those in the last photo. Cool beans!
