The views from the top were phenomenal, and there was one sign posted saying that pods of humpback whales gather in the area, and can be seen during certain times of the year from the overlook. We didn't see any this time, but intend to go back next year during prime whale watching season. We did see what I believe to have been a mongoose - we weren't quick enough with the camera to catch it on film though.

a day hike

The pictures are beautiful. But the one that takes the cake by far, is of little Ava running up the hill. It reminds me of some inspirational poster where a clever quote is written under the picture. Something like: "A journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step" or "To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first."

(Actuallly, this is B): Teach Ava to stay on the right side of the road. (This comes after letting John drive home from the airport last night, so we know how important this is from personal and harrowing experience. A)
