This olive hued beauty made it's way home with me over the weekend, and has already proven useful in so many ways. First and foremost was the little note left for me either by the previous owner or by a knowing thrift shop patron testing the machine's skills. In any case, this is what it said:

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party.
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog's back.

These two sentences played a pretty important role in the laudable history of the typewriter, so it gave me a little chuckle to see them.  Then I started thinking that I should really take this advice to heart.  I've been inspired to be more helpful and less lazy....just as soon as I get off the computer.
