Here it is: the portrait project. For one year (starting two weeks ago) Julie and I will each be taking one self portrait a week. Every Friday the images will be posted to our respective flickr accounts, and then the photos will be combined and posted here. Each combination will be a surprise for us, and we're hoping they will be pleasant. Here's what we've got so far...

purebred bread
Does everyone love when their food makes unexpected shapes, or is that just me (and A)? Also, this dog bread makes me think of this song which you should listen to now because it is one of the best things ever.

52 weeks finale
Before starting up the next weekly photo collaboration, I thought I'd better finish up the last one. I had always meant to post a final bit about the 52 weeks project, and now, a mere three months behind schedule, I'm doing it.
The project started out as a fun way to journal and juxtapose the lives of two friends living miles apart for one year. It became a bit more than that, though, as week after week our images seemed to combine and correspond in the most pleasing (and perfect) ways (see 13/52, 25/52 and 28/52 for starters). I started really looking forward to posting my photo each week and checking Julie's to see if we had unknowingly pulled off a cohesive combo. I think we were both surprised and pleased to see each week's results, and I'm terribly delighted by the stories that seem to be lurking within each combination.

sweet home
We've been tackling a whole slew of home improvement projects lately which has pretty much rendered our kitchen unusable for the moment. I also took time to hang some things I've had sitting in a stack in the bedroom for the past I don't even know how long.
Also, to appease my brat of a brother, note the little heart at the bottom right. Embroidered by me. I'm counting it. So there.
p.s. I made Milla's best of list! And Andrea likes my cardi wrappage! Thanks internet friends.

the point
Still plugging away at the list...number nine.
We tried ahike long walk on the opposite side of the island - somewhere we haven't been yet. It was really ridiculously hot, but then we saw an albatross. And then we saw another, and another, and then a few more. Then there were some monk seals too. So it ended up being okay.
