I've been taking A to these little ABC playdates once a week. It was my turn to teach when the letter F came around so I printed (using this lino block) and cut a bunch of paper feathers for the kids to glue on to headbands. I've got a bunch left over that I think I'll use as gift tags.

Have any of you seen Made by Joel yet? If you haven't, you should - it's my new favorite craft blog. After seeing this post, I wanted to try to make my own little zippered pouch. Even though I had never used the zipper foot for my sewing machine, it was pretty easy, and now I have something to hold my keys and phone while I'm at the beach. I'm all pumped to make walnut boats with A next. I just hope they end up as cute as these.

good things

1 - Yesterday was my wedding anniversary. We've been at it for eight years and I could go another eighty. Yay love!

2 - I had to go through and pick out a few dead ones, but we've still got heaps of flowers left over from A's party. This is good as I've decided having fresh florals definitely makes for improved morale.

3 - One of my favorite fashion bloggers, Claire from Mamushka Marie, did a little post featuring me on her blog over the weekend. I am so completely flattered that she thought of me. I mean, just take a gander at how unbelievably cool she is...
See?! She's the bees knees! So if you're interested in knowing more about what I do in my free time or what I wanted to be when I grew up, or if you just want to see more of Claire's awesome outfits, head that way to take a peek.

things that went wrong:

• the camera which quit working while you were traveling but began working the moment you arrived home has quit working again just as you have a birthday party you'd like photographed.
• you spent a week sewing hand puppets for a theater that didn't get played with, and cut your fingers on floral wire making tissue paper flowers for a garland that didn't get seen, and spent money on enough fresh flowers to fill ten vases that weren't enjoyed because the rain started up just as you'd finished hanging and draping and arranging but before the party began.
  
• you were forced to fit fifty people into an apartment the size of a bread box.

things that went right: 

• you remembered you owned a polaroid.
• you decided to enjoy yourself anyway and you think everyone else did too.
